Restaurants

Why does Playa Tamarindo have the culinary diversity of a much larger place? Because it’s a fantastic melting pot of cultures from around the world. Tamarindo is home to residents from all over the world and many of them have opened restaurants here! Here are some of our favorites:

Dragonfly : gourmet fusion cuisine with a little bit of everything! Seafood, salads, steak and more are all served with a signature flair that will keep you coming back for more. Try the Mojitos…they’re delicious and little bit dangerous.

Patagonia – If you love steaks, this is the place. It’s the closest thing to Buenos Aires that you’ll find in the area and the (mostly Argentinian) staff will keep you smiling as they attend to your needs. Sangria is the drink of choice and the Mixed Grill gives you a sample of just about everything!

Wok n Roll – Need some thai food, Korean BBQ ribs or lettuce wraps? Sushi? Summer rolls? Sake? They have all of that here and it is done to perfection with excellent service to match.

Marea Alta – Peruvian inspired fresh seafood. Need I say more? Check it out, it’s delicious.

Las Pangas – On the beach, this is our go-to restaurant with great service, excellent seafood and tasty beverages. Steaks served on a sizzling lava rock, seafood just off the boat and delicious micro-brews on tap…along with some excellent signature cocktails. Try their weekend brunch; the El Presidente (eggs benedict topped with beef tenderloin!) is a favorite and the blackened fish sandwich is a lunchtime standard.

Seasons by Schlomy – Mediterranean inspired gourmet cuisine. Chef Schlomy has perfected the craft and his staff is on point!

Nogui’s – We call it “gourmet local cuisine” and with good reason. The freshest fish, great salads, and tender steaks. Lunch and breakfast are a huge hit as well at this oceanfront restaurant in the center of town.

El Vaquero – Oceanfront beer, burgers, BBQ and chicken sandwiches. Brewpub with onsite brewing attached to the building! Saturday evenings they have a sunset party with live music and a bonfire

La Esquina – Wood fired pizza, delicious with great service!

Pizza La Baula – Thin crust pizza and again, excellent service. They have a nice little play area (slides/swings) for the kids as well.
